Flying the parachute as a stunt kite
Paralight’s unique benefit is that it can be used as a stunt kite that can be flown at the park or at the beach.
To use the parachute as a kite, attach the appropriate strings supplied with the unit. Make sure to adjust the connecting string between the ends of the strings according to the diagrams.
Prior to flying the kite please make sure that you are in an appropriate location, away from high voltage and electric lines, buildings and any other potential obstacle. Similarly, you should be aware of the fact that the parachute has exceptionally high drag (over 30 kg). Using the parachute as a kite is not intended for children under the age of 15, unless accompanied by an adult.
After attaching the strings, position the parachute some 20 meters away, windward. The parachute must be spread out on the ground, or held by another person in such a way that the air vents are facing upwards and towards the operator.
Pull the strings when you are ready, and the kite will ascend. Maneuver the kite leftwards and right by pulling one end of the strings so as to stabilize the kite in the center, facing the wind (please refer to the instructional video on this subject).
Hold the strings with outstretched hands, pulling one side towards your body, rather than sideways. The operator should sense the kite’s pull and maneuver it to the point where the wind is strongest.
The kite can be rotated around its axis by pulling one side and then returned by pulling the other side. You can also practice flying the kite from side to side at low altitudes as well as performing sharp maneuvers, swooping downward from high altitudes and then climbing again.
